With Lignes de fractures, Michèle Noiret presents a multi-layered work that she describes as the last she will create with her company. A final piece, not as a farewell but as a new beginning: the eternal questioning of the creative process.
Five women — dancers/performers from different generations, driven by their desires, doubts, questions and anger — burst into the space of a room, a room where anything can happen, and above all the unexpected.
Using the same set-design as in the creation of Chambre blanche in 2006 at the Théâtre Les Tanneurs, twenty years later a new work emerges. Michèle Noiret goes back in time, drawing on the threads of her own artistic experience. A process that reflects her desire to bring these different generations into dialogue, to weave bonds of complicity between five women with more than thirty years between them.
Past, present and an anticipated future coexist in scenes where memory and recollections of the earlier piece mingle with fiction, creating an atmosphere akin to a waking dream. Underpinned by a fragmentary, multidimensional writing, in which different temporalities coexist and collide, the five performers draw us into their own fantasies, awakening a gentle yet insidious madness — the kind that lies dormant within each of us…
