Four women investigate the death of Ophelia, the beautiful drowned woman who has been the subject of so many fantasies since Shakespeare and the Pre-Raphaelite painters. How often has this abandoned, powerless woman not been sublimated? How do we look at these representations of women victims today? With fascination or dismay?
The protagonists re-enact the conditions of the drowning, look for fingerprints, test the positions of the body, the weight of the head, identifying more and more with the beautiful castaway.
Cinema and live performance interact. The image of water gradually invades the space, as if to make us rediscover the original ocean depths and to transform us into witnesses of our own drifting, like the potential Ophelias we all are.
The show has been programmed as part of Disability Week of the City of Brussels, an initiative by Lydia Mutyebele, Deputy Mayor for Equal Opportunities.
From 14 years old.
