Opening of the new foyer and restaurant

On 6 February 2024, the Théâtre Les Tanneurs officially opened the doors of its new foyer, after several years of renovation work. The opening marked the end of a series of transformations: the creation of a small auditorium for performances and a mini auditorium for rehearsals, the creation of a coworking space (“le 4”), the renovation of several spaces and the use of various dormant areas of the building.

This new foyer has become the heart of the theatre. Far from being imagined as an airlock or waiting room, this enlarged and renovated space is designed as a real place to live, share and meet, open to the emblematic Marolles district. People come here to discuss world affairs or to share their feelings about the show they’ve just seen. With seating for around a hundred, the foyer welcomes the Tanneurs audience and the artists throughout the day.

Conducted by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the renovation was entrusted to studio adn architectures, who created a warm, open space. Two scenographers then designed the spaces. As for the restaurant, the Resto des Tanneurs will offer quality cuisine using food sourced from short supply chains.
