Othmane Moumen

After being introduced to theatre at a late stage via associations and youth centres, Othmane Moumen chose to make it his career. He has performed in some 60 shows and has worked with various companies. He has been Harlequin, Puck, Ariel, Passepartout, Chaplin, Scapin, Elephant man, and Arsène Lupin.

In 2001, he co-founded the Chéri-Chéri company. In 2012, he created a gestural theatre company which toured the world with the performance Doffice. For the past 15 years, he has also conducted theatre workshops. For the past few years, he has been an active participant in the writing of plays such as Chaplin, Doffice, Lupin, and Moutoufs, which examines the dual Belgian-Moroccan identity. He played in the Dardenne brothers’ film Le jeune Ahmed, for which he received a nomination for best actor in a supporting role at the Magritte du cinéma.
