Collectif Greta Koetz
The Collectif Greta Koetz is made up of several actresses and actors from Liège’s ESACT-Royal Conservatory, a musician from Paris’ CRR and a lighting designer-constructor-manager.
They are Marie Alié, Marie Bourin, Antoine Cogniaux, Sami Dubot, Thomas Dubot, Antoine Herbulot, Alice Laruelle, Nicolas Marty, Nicolas Payet and Léa Romagny. In 2019, the collective created On est sauvage comme on peut and Le jardin in 2021.
Working as a group enables them to develop and define their own theatrical practice. For them, this collective approach provides an opportunity for political experiments insofar as it challenges the usual allocation of power and duties in theatrical creation.
The primary question that concerns them on the stage and within the group is that of emancipation. How can we get rid of our assignations? How can one be liberated? What techniques can be invented to free oneself from disciplinary devices, or as Rancière would say, from the “police sharing of the sensitive”? Which spaces of invention can they carve out for themselves, be it in human interactions, in mysticism or in history? How can their bodies become indolent? Experiences of deviancy, strangeness, abnormality or irregularity appeal to them as (conscious or unconscious) techniques of emancipation.
