Accessibility

People with reduced mobility

A ramp will soon be installed to allow access to the foyer through the restaurant door. At present, access is via the porch and the main hall.

The main hall is accessible to people with reduced mobility. There is an accessible toilet in the foyer (to the right of the entrance to the main hall).

Shows at L’Envers are accessible to people with reduced mobility, but there is no toilet. Shows in the small auditorium (at the back of the theatre) are not accessible to PRMs.

Hearing accessibility

The shows in the main auditorium (with and without text) are accessible to the hearing impaired via a high-definition headphone system. This system, which operates via wifi, picks up all the sounds of the show – music, background sounds, actors’ voices – which are picked up by microphones and redistributes them over the wifi network. Hearing-impaired spectators can use an application to access these sounds and choose the volume. You can download the application directly by following this link. Headphones and smartphones are available free of charge.

We also provide balloons so that you can feel the vibrations caused by the sounds of the shows.

To take advantage of a balloon or the high-definition headphone system, you can go to the ticket office on the evening of the show and our reception staff will take care of you.

Specific systems

We want to provide access to certain shows through special arrangements. We are thinking, for example, of image translation with the I See Foundation.

As part of the Semaine des Handicaps organised by the Brussels City Council, special arrangements will be made for access to the shows Cosmos (29 and 30 November) and The Making of Pinocchio (5 and 6 December):

– 29 November: Raising awareness of visual impairment for the general public via the ‘Image Translation’ system.

– 30 November: A performance of Cosmos adapted for the visually impaired and blind using the ‘Image Translation’ system provided by the I See Foundation.

– 5 and 6 December: An LSFB interpreter will be on hand to welcome the deaf to The Making of Pinocchio (naturally accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing thanks to the French surtitles).
